about

Scott and Jackson's "Philosophy of Music" professor said something about a crazy party at Stalin's house, Zach wrote out a drum part, and I spent a few hours with a microphone trying to sound as goofy as possible. Thus the band's first total collaboration was born.

lyrics

“Party @ Stalin’s”

A silver head served on a silver platter
Exquisite rugs to cover all the blood splatter
How fancy are the goblets from which we drink
Oh, the guests are getting more than what they think

The band is forced to play the red leader’s favourite tunes
Simpler than the rising of the sun and moon
They only played three chords in the progression
Such was the comrade’s favourite obsession

They never see it
Until it’s too late
And this is what we’ve gotta say

How great is the comrade’s palace
Oh the parties inside they just never end
So grab a platter and a gold-encrusted chalice
Come and be the leader’s friend

All the peasants looking through the window
Yeah they just want to be part of the dinner and show
Kinda like the critters from Orwell’s Animal Farm
Yeah they just wanna catch the leader with their charm

But they never see it
Until it’s too late
And this is what they gotta say

Oh that nobody ever leaves the leader’s party
The guards ensure it ends quite bloodily
And every party ends right in the same way
But here’s what the leader wants you to say

How great is the comrade’s palace
Oh the parties inside they just never end
So grab a platter and a gold-encrusted chalice
Come and be the leader’s friend
