Are You Waiting?

from Dots and Lines by Eric Elliott

/

about

My dulcimer folk-epic! In a Dorian tuning. Conceived in pieces no fewer than 5 years ago, I had all the parts and no real concept for how to put them together until my friend Jeremy suggested I go all-out Jethro Tull on it and write it about my "old love"... So that's that.

lyrics

“Are You Waiting?”

Are you waiting for your old love?
The one who wakes you from your sleep
Are you standing still for someone?
Even when the current runs so deep

One layover and you’re on your way
One day older but you feel the same
Maybe later we’ll look back and say
It was crazy how we spent the days for love

Over and over the world is turning
Passes you by in colors grey and green
So pass the time, watch the game, rehearse your lines
And still your old love is nowhere to be seen

One layover and you’re on your way
One day older but you feel the same
Maybe later we’ll look back and say
It was crazy how we spent the days for love

Are you waiting for your old love?
The one who wakes you from your sleep
Are you standing still for someone?
Standing still and incomplete
