Although she gets embarrassed by this one because I say her name in it, I write all my love songs specifically for my fiancee, Sarah. This one's for you, love! And so are all the other ones too.
This is probably the most Beatles-esque song I've ever written. Silly guitar riff, straightforward chords, goofy backing vocals... Then there's a Harry Potter reference; it's ridiculous. Good thing Jackson adds some sweet guitar noise on the bridge to bring it down to Earth.
lyrics
“Back to You”
Hey Sarah, wait a minute, there’s something I’ve gotta say to you
I’m falling deeply in love with everything you do
And so I’ve gotta say that tonight you’re looking lovely
When I’m away I just hope you’re thinking of me too
‘Cause no matter where I go, yeah I’m always coming back to you
Times are hard, times are hard, but I know that we can make it, girl
Every worry in your body, yeah I wanna help you shake it girl
And even if they say that nothing is forever
Throw it all away ‘cause there’s nothing we can’t weather through
‘Cause no matter where I go, yeah I’m always coming back to you
And if this world ever gets you down, just look my way and darlin I’ll be around
And if the distance ever gets too far, just say my name I’ll be wherever you are
And if you feel like you’re under attack, I’m on your team, I’ll be your Sirius Black
Because I’m always coming back to you
You’re making me think that there’s a miracle cure
Your love, your love, can solve problems, stop hate, and bring an end to war
Whatever it is, girl I hope you know you’ve got it
Take a little time and maybe you can spot it too
‘Cause no matter where I go, yeah I’m always coming back to you
‘Cause no matter where I go, yeah I’m always coming back to you
‘Cause no matter where I go, yeah I’m always coming back to you
