The Great Texas Wildfire, 1892

from by Jasper's Cast

Jackson, Jeremy, and I each wrote a verse for this one. We each sang it too.

"The Great Texas Wildfire, 1892"

The sky was red with the dawn
We woke at the first alarm
And we rose to claim our glory
With the naivety of a child
We sought to tame the wild
Red sky at morning
Sailors take warning

The air was filled with smoke
As the old general spat and spoke
He said I'll give you boys just one good chance
The riverside with corporal Lance's forty
We arrived there too late it seemed
How I wish that I could have been dreaming
There was fire all around I was swallowed by sound
Great God in heaven the world was burning

Oh my God my tears could not quench the pain of flame
Red and orange engulfing everything
Barn caught blue couldn't know what to do
Now we're moving to to the city
Where I will live a life alone
That fire it buried Ana's bones
Now I'm just living like a, just living like a stone
