The Last Night of December (original)

from Early Demos (2004 - 2008) by Eric Elliott

/

about

My first-ever dulcimer composition. Complete with teenage angst, a fake English accent, and everything else that is possibly totally embarrassing.

lyrics

It's the last night of December and I'm the only one there
And I think to myself that it's ok
Cause I know I've been up and down and I feel I've gotten around
But still I start to feel the same
And I believe that everyone should have the right
To feel the cooled air and warm sunlight
And I know that everything is fine
Just making my own time
Just making my own time

It's the last night of December and if you're ever down
Just take a look and know that you are free
To wander where you've lost the way and see that there's another way
To find whatever it may be
And I believe that everyone should have the right
To feel the cooled air and warm sunlight
I know that everything is fine
Just making my own time

And oh I feel so lucky
For I get to travel and move along
And oh life can be so heavy
I just have to shoulder it and know I'm strong

It's the last night of December and I'm the only one there
And I think to myself that it's ok
Cause I know I've been up and down and I feel I've gotten around
But still I start to feel the same
And I believe that everyone should have the right
To feel the cooled air and warm sunlight
I know that everything is fine
Just making my own time
